Founded in 2004, the IIM is a scientific association bringing together investigators at universities and research centers in Italy and abroad.

The IIM mission is to promote interdisciplinary collaborations to understand normal and pathological aspects of muscle development, activity and repair, as well as interactions between researchers, clinicians and patient associations for the development of therapeutic treatments for neuromuscular diseases.

Special attention is paid to young fellows training and the promotion of international scientific exchanges.
